| Nitin wins junior snooker final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 30: Nitin Sharma clinched the junior snooker title outplaying Bhuran Ahmed Khan in straight frames in the final of 20th Jammu District Open Billiards and Snooker Championships underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today. Except for the opening frame, Nitin hardly faced any difficulty in sidelining Bhuran Ahmed 3-0 in best of five final. The score: 55-41, 56-30, 61-23. In the meantime, senior cueists, Kamal Rohmetra and Sohail Khalid made it into the final of senior billiards event. Now, Kamal shall face Sohail in the title clash scheduled for 1 pm tomorrow. It will be followed by the prize distribution function at 3 pm. Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Kamal defeated Nikhil Kapahi 3-0 with scorecard reads 100-51, 100-43, 100-73. The second semi-final, which though ended in straight games yet witnessed a keen contest between Sohail Khalid and Mohit. However, Sohail emerged the winner outplaying hit opponent 3-0 (100-98, 100-96 and 100-96).
