| SIEF launches signature campaign to save water | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, May 30: Speak India Environmental Foundation (SIEF), district unit Kathua today launched a signature campaign in Lakhanpur against the global threats to the environment. The programme was organised under the presidentship of district president SIEF, Aditya Verma. In the opening session, Verma said that the main motto of the signature campaign was to ‘Save Ravi Safe Ravi’ and ‘Save Environment Save Life’. In awareness campaign about 2000 people participated and gave their valuable suggestion and comments to save environment.
Chairman of Foundation, Manuj Kesar said, “It is our dream to save water, water bodies and life on earth and we want to achieve it through this campaign.” He further added that the future of the world is under threat due to water crisis. “There is water crisis today but the crisis is not about having too little water to fulfill our needs, it is a crisis of managing water so poorly that billions of people, animals, and the environment suffer badly.” Sunil Sharma, a speaker sought support from the people of the Kathua to make the movement worldwide. The active voluntrers present on the occasion were Shashi Sharma, Secretary General, Suresh Kumar, Vice President, Jatinder Kumar, State Secretary, Gurmeet Singh, President Jammu district and Prince Rajan Khajuria, Media Secretary.
