| 2 killed, two injured in road mishaps | | |

JAMMU, May 30: Two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in separate road mishaps across Jammu region since last 24 hours. Police reports said that a Maruti car (JK02G-4912) was on its way from Jammu to Rajouri, when it collided with a speeding truck (JK02D-1185), coming from the opposite direction at Siot Morh which led to on spot death of the car driver.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ilyas son of Mir Mohammed of Morian Manjakot. On receipt of information, a team of police rushed to the spot and arrested truck driver while the body was shifted to nearby hospital for autopsy and other legal formalities. Meanwhile, a critically injured person identified as Aadil Ahmed son of Aslam of Sopur succumbed to his injuries at the Government Medical College and Hospital. He was injured in an accident on May 27 at Ramban. Two youth identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Kaka Ram and Davinder Nath son of Buwa Ditta both residents of Gagwal, were injured when the motorbike, they were driving slipped off the road at Kunjwani. Police said that the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Police have taken cognizance.
