Nirvana Academy organizes 'Golden Guitar Contest' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 31: Nirvana Academy organized a music competition "Golden Guitar Contest" at Abhinav Theatre here this morning. This musical competition was organized to provide platform to the young guitarist of the state and to promote music. In the competition, about 60 Guitarists participated under different categories. The programme started with the performance of a fusion band 'Saptak'. Earlier, District President Rural, PDP Jammu, Suram Singh inaugurated the music competition. Speaking on the occasion, Suram Singh said that the Nirvana Academy is playing pivotal role to promote music among the youngsters by arranging music competitions in the remote as well as far-off areas. Nirvana Academy felicitated Naresh Sharma a noted Guitarist and vocalist with "Golden Guitar Award of the year 2010". Ritesh Badyal, President Nirvana Academy threw light on the achievements of Naresh Sharma in the field of art and music. Badyal expressed that Golden Guitar programme is a platform which invites all the guitarist of J&K to show their skills and techniques of playing guitar. Some Special performances were also presented on the stage including performances of Sumit Sharma (Senior Guitar Instructor, SSKM), Mady (Senior Guitar Instructor, The Strings), Vikas Bawa (Guitar Instructor, JK Public School Kunjwani), Kuldeep Kumar (Senior Guitarist, Aarohi Sangeet Vidyalaya), Amit Shanna (Guitarist), Rafiq (Guitarist) and Anmol (Guitarist).
