YMP organises awareness programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 31: Youth Movement for Peace (YMP) organized a 2-day programme at Shiksha Bhawan Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. In this programme, a slogan writing competition was organized with the aim of making students aware of the problems entangling with the nature. The topic of the competition was "Green India". About 188 students from Class VI to Class X participated in this competition. Different themes like Global Warming, Deforestation and Pollution had been taken by the students for slogan writing competition. Sunny Gupta (Class X), Vishal Sharma (Class X), Harjinder Singh(Class VIII) and Meenakshi Rajput (Class VIII) clinched 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize respectively in senior category while in junior category, Monika Sharma (Class VII), Chidakash Ahdi (Class VII), Sandeep (Class VI) and Kangan Verma (Class VII) got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize respectively. About 10 students were given certificates of appreciation and rest of them got participation certificates in this competition. Chairman, YMP, Vikas Sharma was the chief guest on this occasion. He awarded the meritorious students and appreciated all the students for their great performance and participation. He encouraged the students to participate in these kinds of competitions and awareness programs. Sharma further said, "These programs help in grooming the talent of the students and constraint the students to ponder over the problems faced by us. As the students are the pillars of nation, so it's our duty to mould them into responsible and good citizens for the welfare and betterment of our society." |
