PoK commanders ask JK ultras to do something big | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 31: Finding it hard to push ultras into J&K to keep the hitherto waning militancy alive, the PoK-based commanders have asked the militants in the state to do something big. "No one should talk of peace in J&K and it was possible only if you make fresh strikes at police and army installations, besides crowded places," their PoK handlers had told them on wireless sets, according to police sources. ''Militants across the Line of Control (LoC) have been given clear instructions to sneak into this side and execute some big strike in the country,'' the sources added. As per the wireless intercepts, with the strengthened security apparatus and strategy of eliminating top militant commanders operating in inaccessible areas across Jammu and Kashmir, the militancy perpetrators in PoK are finding it difficult to maintain minimum number of their cadres to continue their ''effective operations''. The barbed fence and 24x7 foot patrolling by army soldiers along the 742-km-long LoC has further minimised chances of infiltration into the Himalayan state, which has been witnessing bloodshed due to militancy since the late 1980s. ''Frustrated due to all these factors, the terror mentors in Pakistan are desperate to push in more militants in Jammu and Kashmir,'' the sourced added. ''As per reports, they have given a loud and clear message to their cadres (militants) to do something big in India'' sources said. Meanwhile, looking at the influx of tourists reaching Jammu and Kashmir this summer and ensuing Shri Amarnath pilgrimage, security forces have also reset their strategy to counter militants from across the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control.
