EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 2: In the backdrop of national executive body convention held at Katra on May 2 and 3, World Women Awakening Organisation (WWAO) has constituted its Jammu and Kashmir Chapter. The Jammu and Kashmir Chapter was formed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sneh Bali, convener of J&K Chapter and national general secretary of the body. Newly appointed office bearers of the J&K Chapter include Prof-Sarla Kohli as president, Dr. Renu Arun of Model Institute of Education and Research, senior vice president, Dr. Indira Rathore, general secretary, Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy, Dimple Anil and Dr. Parveen Sabherwal, as secretaries while Kanchan Sharma would act as Press and Publicity, secretary and Raj Bharti would be treasurer. To give valuable suggestions for the empowerment and upliftment of women, an Advisory Board was also formed. Secretary, J&K Women Commission, Hafiza Muzaffer, Reeta Mandessa, Esther William and Nasreen Firoz Khan would be its members. In order to take care of orginasational activities at rural level, Village Adult Education Committee was formed headed by Nirmal Bakshi.Veena Handa, Chairman of Handa College of Education would head External Affairs Committee. On this occasion, an executive body was also constituted in which Nalini Kohli, Prabha Sharma, Nancy Handoo, Anjli Thusso, Usha Dachhan, Reeta Jamwal, Kamini Khajuria, Kailash Rajput, Nimmi Khurana, Dr. Poonam Sharma, S. Koul, Surinder Kour, Dr. Sabba, Shashi Thakur, Virta Dutta, Kiran Bakshi, Kiran Khetri, Kavita Suri, Gurdeep Madan, Anita Sharma, Kiran Sathu, Pawan Bali were included. Earlier, at Katra Convention the names of National Body were announced, as per announcements Dr. Major Asha Mathur from Gwalior will act as National Convener, Reeta Jaiswal from Banaras as president, Dr. Geeta from Nagpur, as vice president, Sneh Bali from Jammu as General Secretary, Pinki Anand from Delhi as Legal Advisor.
