| MLA Poonch tours far flung areas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, June 2: Aijaz Ahmed Jan MLA Haveli Poonch constituency today completed an extensive tour of backward areas of Mandi Block.
During his tour, Aijaz Jan inaugurated "Major Rohit Memorial Cricket Tournament at Seikhloo" in the presence of Brigadier Satish Dua of 93 Inf. Brigade Poonch. The Rohit Memorial Tournament is organised every year in the fond Memory of Maj. Rohit Sharma who lost his life in a Bloody Battle with the terrorists at Sathra on May 17, 1998. Commanding officer, 40 RR and CO BSF was also present in the inaugural ceremony.
Later on, at Arai village, Jan inaugurated the newly constructed School complex for Primary School Batnara. The building stands constructed and completed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
At the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, Jan was accompanied by AEE public works Dept. and Executive Engineer, Power Development Department.
Jan travelled towards Arai Haveli and inaugurated a Computer Lab in High School, Arai Haveli.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a large number of Students, local residents and prominent citizens. It is pertinent to mention here that the Computer Lab has been made functional under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. A Colourful Cultural Programme was also organised by the Students in the Honour of MLA.
Aijaz Jan held a Public Durbar at Arai. The Public of the area raised the issue of their concern before the MLA.
