Inter-district shooting championship from June 9

JAMMU, June 4: Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA), the Inter-District Shooting Championship shall take place at J&K Police shooting range, Gulshan ground, here from June nine to June 12.
This was decided in a meeting of the organising committee which met under the chairmanship of Association working president, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Armed, Dilbag Singh, here.
Meeting beside others was attended by Dr Narinder Singh, general secretary, Sudhir Kumar, treasurer, KS Jamwal, sr vice president, Dr Uttam Singh and Sanam Soni.
It was finalized by the members that the June nine will be practice day while the actual competition shall start from June 10 at the same venue.
"The competition shall be held in .177 Air Rifle / Air Pistol and .22 rifle individual and team events during the four-day tournament. The events would be supervised by Inspector Sharat Chander, joint secretary of the Association and assisted by Rajesh Virdhi and Subash, both shooting coaches of J&K Police," Dr Narinder Singh told SAN.
The competition will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). It will be during this championship that the Association would be finalizing the shooters for a special coaching camp to be held at Punjab Armed Police Shooting Range, Phillaur in Punjab.
All the affiliated units, clubs, institutions as also other interested shooters have been advised to submit their entries accompanied with a fee of Rs 150 for individual and Rs 300 for team event to Rajesh Virdi, assistant treasurer JKRA on or before June eight at J&K Police Shooting Range, Gulshan Ground between 5 pm to 7 pm, a separated handout issued here today informed.
In case the interested shooters fail to submit their entries on or before June eight, three time of the original fee will be charged as late fee following the NRAI norms.
