EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU , June 4: A meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Backward Classes Union held under chairmanship of Madan lal Basotra, All J&K Sain Samaj (Barber-Hajam) in presence of Madan Lal Dogra (President Jheewer Community), Ayodhya Kumar Manawa (President Prajapati Shabha), R.L. Chargotra (Ex-President of All J&K Pardesh Vishwakarma Shabha) and Bansi Lal Choudhary , Convenor BCU.Rattan lal Chargotra criticized UPA government at centre for not taking the decision in their cabinet meeting regarding caste basis census-2011 despite the assurance given by Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India in the Parliament House as majority of Member Parliaments are in favour of caste basis-census of 2011. As it is truth that the congress party ruled more than 55 years in the country but never favored OBC's development. As history tells that Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and other Prime Ministers of India kept the 'Kaka Kalelkar Commission Report-1953' in the sealed boxes for more than 20 years as it was the first commission meant for OBC reservation. The 2nd commission named as 'Mandal Commission-1980' report was kept in the sealed boxes for more than 10 years by Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi, Ex-Prime Ministers of India. Further Ashwani Kumar Bamotra detailed that it was only VP Singh, Ex-Prime Minister of India gave 27% reservation rights to Other Backward Classes as per Mandal Commission Report-1980. But on the other hand alliance partner NC-Congress ruling in J&K state for more than 60 years have kept away the J&K OBC masses from their 27% reservation in state Government services despite the verdict-1992 of Supreme Court of India. Further state OBC development Board is an urgent need as was Gujjar, Bakkerwal and Schedule Caste Development Boards. An appeal to OBC masses to start a peaceful agitational programme from 25th June, was announced as 25th June is the birth anniversary of Ex- Prime Minister V.P. Singh. Abdul Majid, Mohammad Ramzan, Talib Hussain, Abdul Jabar, Chaman Lal, Tith Sodhi, Kamal Kishore Bhardwaj, D.K. Yadav, Mohammad Aslam, Mohan Lal, Harbans Lal Sodhi, Lal Din and others were alos present .
