6/6/2010 11:03:16 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 6: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman Bhim Singh has described this visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh a new and great gesture for welfare and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons here today, Bhim Singh while hailing Prime Minister's visit to J&K called upon the Hurriyat leaders to respond, not miss the opportunity and talk to the Prime Minister who is coming with open heart and mind to talk with all sections of political groups in the state.
Bhim said that a 21-member delegation of JKNPP would call on the Prime Minister tomorrow to express their solidarity with the Prime Minister's initiative to start a new era of dialogue with all sections of political society in the state.
"J&K is seen as integral part of India but actually J&K has not been fully integrated with India till now as Parliament cannot make any law over Jammu and Kashmir," he maintained.
He reiterated his demand and appealed the Prime Minister to make certain amendments in Article 370 to empower Parliament to make law over J&K. He informed that JKNPP would raise issues of migrants, reconstitute the 5th Working Group with Prime Minister.
'I am confident that the angry Kashmiri leadership would offer to join political system and in that case the Prime Minister may not hesitate to go for fresh Assembly elections by the end of this year," he said, adding, "That is the only way to ensure return of peace with dignity and democracy in the state'.
Bhim Singh also urged Prime Minister to take up the issue of human exploitation and human rights violation in Gilgit-Baltisthan.
The Panthers Party chief also expressed full support to the efforts of the Prime Minister to reach a final settlement vis-à-vis LoC across Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan to peaceful resolution so that India and Pakistan do not fall into the dangerous Anglo-American trap.
