Govt must show some sincerity: JKVM | Return of KPs | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 6: Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) today accused the government of adopting "dilly dallying" tactics to resolves the issues of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. The Manch has also rejected the return module formulated by the state government for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley. "The government should come out of the negative attitude and involve displaced KPs in return process. The government is not sincere and serious towards the return and permanent settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley," the Manch leaders told reporters here. The leaders alleged, "The so-called 'facilitation of return' actually aims at promoting good will between the majority Muslims and Hindus. It is mischievous because it ignores the fact that the exile of the Hindu occurred inspite of an essential goodwill being there. The 'facilitation' theme also ignores the fundamentalist sway which swept away the goodwill, the government machinery, Police and rendered the Hindus homeless. " "All the Return schemes of the government, from the Koul Committee Report to Prime Minister's Package are based on these vague themes of 'goodwill' and 'facilitation'. The Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation has also been tinkering with Return using these two themes. These schemes despite the good intentions they may carry are worthless, because they ignore the basic issue of security. Hence nobody has taken these packages seriously," they said. The KP leaders maintained that the sense of security cannot be guaranteed by the vague 'goodwill' and 'facilitation'. They demanded that the rehabilitation must be at a single place, adjacent to Srinagar, by establishing a township like one of the half a dozen colonies that have sprung around Srinagar during the last 20 years. "This road map is, however, feasible only till the present constitutional position of the state endures," they said.
