Matric, MBBS exam postponed in Kashmir | | | SRINAGAR: In view of the general strike, called by the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) against the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Kashmir valley, all the examinations scheduled to be held tomorrow, have been postponed. Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kashmir University Showkat Shafi today said all university examinations scheduled to be held tomorrow were being rescheduled. Revised schedule was being notified separately, he said. A statement issued by the Assistant secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (SBSE) said ''in view of some unavoidable circumstances, the class 10 Bi-Annual (private) examinations of mathematics paper, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow, stands postponed''. The examination of the said paper will be held on June 23 now, he said. According to Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, the send-up practical examination of final MBBS, scheduled for tomorrow, was postponed due to unforseen circumstances and would now be held on June 10. Meanwhile, full dress rehearsal of the fifth convocation of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) was held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC) here today. During the rehearsal, security forces remained on high alert in and around the SKICC and a helicopter was seen flying in the area keeping a close watch. Security forces, wearing bullet-proof jackets and carrying automatic weapons, were also seen on motorboats and shikaras at the Dal Lake.
