PM unlikely to meet KP leaders in Valley | | | ASHWANI EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 6: The Prime Minister is unlikely to meet the Kashmiri Pandit delegations during his two days to Kashmir beginning tomorrow. Though Prime Minister has drawn flake from various Kashmiri Pandit organisations for not including the meeting with the KP organisations in his tour iternary, some of the KP delegations are camping in Kashmir Valley to seek an audience with Dr Manmohan Singh to apprise him of their view point on the rehabilitation policy framed by Government of India for the displaced Pandits in Valley. These delegations representing various KP organaisations are making rounds in the top official corridors and the meeting VIPs to seek an audience from Dr Singh. However the PMO's Office according to sources has not cleared the name of any organization to meet Prime Minister yet. As the Government is also ruled out any meeting of Prime Minister with separatist Hurriyat leaders, however the leaders of various political parties have reached Srinagar to have meeting with Dr Singh. The delegation besides the BJP led by its leader Shamsher Singh Manhas, Panthers Party and other organisations have reached the Summer Capital while some will leave early tomorrow to meet Dr Singh and discuss the peace process with him. The sources said that with the growing opposition to PM's proposed meeting with the Hurriyat leaders from various quarters, the PMO has changed it's schedule in this regard. Though this decision has given a relief to the opponents of the separatists in different parts in Jammu as well as Kashmir Valley, some KP organizations are still hopeful of getting the last minute invitation to meet Dr Singh. The Pandit leaders who are at present in Srinagar include NC MLC Vijay Bakaya, Lok Janshakti National Youth president Sanjay Saraf, Congress Minority Cell chairman, Moti Koul, another senior Congress leader and member ex Kashmir Committee Ashok Bhan Kashmir Samiti Delhi chief, Rakesh Koul and activists of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj. The Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj activists who are camping in Summer Capital for last two days have warned to resort to hunger strike during the Prime Minister's visit to Valley in case he failed to address the demands of Kashmiri Pandits living an exiled life in different parts of the country for over last 20 years. President of the organization RK Bhat who announced this said that Government has failed to implement the Prime Minister's package announced over two years back till date. Moreover, the package has totally ignored the deserving youth who were the real sufferers of terrorism and could not get the jobs during the turmoil period due to Government's apathy towards the community. Bhat along with his colleagues is making his last minute bid to seek an clearance from Government to meet PM. Showing optimism YAIKS activists said they were assured by the Government of arranging an informal meeting of their delegation with Dr Singh. However Bakya and ML Koul have maintained a total silence on meeting PM. ``We did not get any information from the Government agencies regarding this and were told that PM will keep his meetings confined to those who matter in Government and leaders of certain political parties.
