CB books prison employee for cheating | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 8: On the direction of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jammu, Crime Branch registered a case against a Junior Assistant Miss Mudassar posted in the office of Director General of Prisons Jammu for receiving hefty sums from people to ensure their employment in the department of prisons. The accused is accused of receiving 3,75,000 from the people for their appointment as class IV employees. As per the FIR every candidate was supposed to pay Rs one lakh to the accused. The accused succeeded in extracting 3,75000 from the complainants and ten others. They had promised to pay the remaining amo9unt on receiving the appointment orders. The accused after receiving the advance amount prepared false and fictitious list of the selected candidates wherein the names of complainants and other candidates were figuring and conveyed to the complainants that they and other candidates' stand selected and asked for balance amount. The complainants, however, insisted on the issuance of appointment orders before paying the agreed balance amount. But the appointment orders were not issued in favour of complainants and other candidates till date, despite repeated requests. The accused by misuse of her official position has by illegal and deceitful means conferred undue pecuniary benefits upon herself by preparing false/ fictitious select list. The case against accused namely Miss Mudassar Junior Assistant r/o Ram-Bagh Srinagar posted in the office of Director General of Prisons Jammu prima-facie constituted offences u/s 420/465/468/471 RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act. The investigation has been launched. However, no arrest has been effected till date. ----JNF
