Panun Kashmir reiterates demand for Homeland
6/8/2010 11:07:07 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 8: The Panun Kashmir Convener Dr. Agnishekhar expressed anguish and shock that Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh seems to have completely ignored the concerns and apprehensions he had aroused during the Round Table Conferences and Working Group Meetings. Addressing a well attended public rally at Purkhoo Migrant Camp Phase-4, today, he said displaced Kashmiri Pandits expected Prime Minister to be forthright in setting an agenda of strategic reconstruction and nation building in the state and not to play in to the hands of political elite of the valley, who want the issue of exodus and religious cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits to be pushed under carpet.
He cautioned the entire nation about the readiness of Government of India to surrender before anti-national forces and handover Kashmir on platter to them. The recent revelation made by Hurriyat Chairman Molvi Umar Farooq should serve as an eye-opener. Panun Kashmir appeals entire nation to defeat this design and prevent second partition of India.
PK Convener urged the PM to take note of state government's sinister design of having virtually converted the much hyped employment package into an instrument of blackmail and exploitation by trapping the young Kashmiri Pandit boys and girls under the irretrievable conditions imposed and draconian terms tagged by the state government. This package mischievously linked with the return, is designed to trivialize the full-fledged religious cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits by reducing the issue of genocide and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits to merely constructing transit camps in the valley; State Government and Government of India is either willfully displaying the lack of vision in confronting the large challenges of jehadi terrorism or toying the line of Muslim separatist forces under "quiet diplomacy".
Rejecting the various recently floated misleading and confusing demands by some individuals and groups regarding the creating of Jagati type settlements, City-state constituencies in exile, Minority status, political empowerment, etc, as viable solution for rehabilitation of KPs, Dr. Agnishekhar reiterated that Panun Kashmir Homeland with UT status in north and east of Kashmir is the only well- thought and globally endorsed option for KPs.
PK will not allow vested interests or Government agencies to sabotage the community interest camouflaged in any form at this crucial stage of our struggle. Among others who addressed the rally included. Chuni Lal Bhat, Moti Lal Tickoo,. Mohan Lal Kaul and Sanjay Dattatreya, supreme council member of Panun Kashmir.
