| MLA Niaz demands enhancement of ration scale for J&k people | | | Early times Report
JAMMU, June 8: the MLA and senior congress leader Mohammad Sharief Niaz has expressed his deep, Gratitude to the Prime Dr. Manmohan Singh sparing his valuable time in visiting the valley and sincere efforts of the UPA govt. at centre for extending their support for states overall economical development t in various sectors. Niaz on the occasion also demanded that special mechanism should be developed while funding the different centrally sponsored developmental schemes, especially in RDD sector keeping in view of its topographical strata, as the funds are usually being sanctioned at par with the plain areas of the country which creates a lot of problem in implementation. He also brought into the notice of Prime Minister that only 45% of the DPR under RGGVY scheme has been sanctioned by the Centre Government leaving a balance of 55% for rural electrification of unelectrified areas. He also demanded that the ration scale be enhanced for the people of J&K state, besides on advisory board be constituted for Gandhi and Sippy community similarly at par with the others i.e. Gujjar and Bakerwal /SC/OBC/Paharey speaking community as they are lagging behind in every spare of life and is having population of about than four lacs in the state and due reservation may be given to them in the legislation.
