SOS Gole Gujral wins U-14, U-17 hockey titles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 8: The SOS School Gole Gujral clinched both under-14 and under-17 titles in inter-school (boys) hockey tournament of Jammu district held at K K Hakhu Stadium here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). In the under-14 final, SOS Gole Gujral trounced Guru Harkishan Public Model School Simbal by three goals to nil. While Balmeet Singh scored two goals, Gurpreet Singh added one to make it a big win. The under-17 title also went to SOS Gole Gujral after the school blanked Government High School Simbal 4-0. Earlier, in the semi-final, High School Simbal registered a 4-0 win over Guru Harkishan Public School Simbal. St Peters bag basketball titles Showing their complete supremacy, St. Peters School made a clean sweep in basketball winning both under-14 and under-17 boys' trophies in the inter-school district level tournament held at Mini Stadium, Parade, here. In under-14 final, St Peters BC Road lifted the title outplaying Model Academy 22-19 in a close contest. The under-17 boys' final was again won by St Peters School's Karan Bagh branch beating the BC Road branch of the same school in a one-sided contest 41-16. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the hockey, basketball and handball events in girls sections shall take place tomorrow. Today's matches were officiated by Swatstik, Pushpinder Singh and Manpreet Singh, Amarpreet Singh, Harvinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Moveen Akhtar.
