| Council staff goes on strike today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 8: After the government failure to fulfill its promise made with the employees, the staff of the J&K State Sports Council has decided to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow. While the staff has already chosen the path of agitation in the Summer Capital, their counterparts from Jammu shall be following them from tomorrow. "Yes, we have decided to go on strike from tomorrow in view of government's failure to fulfill our genuine and just demands agreed upon by the administration time to time," said president of the employees union, Iqbal Singh. It is pertinent to mention here that the striking Sports Council employees are demanding implementation of Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.
