Heritage school organizes plantation drive | | | early times report Jammu, June 8: Con-ervation of water and the importance of every drop of it was highlighted in a most telling manner as large number of Heritageans depicted the topic ' Water Conservation ' in as many different ways as observed and felt by them. Deputy. Conservator of Forest, Directorate of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing, R C Sharma was present to motivate and sensitize the children about the dire urgency and importance of conserving resources. The competition was followed by 'Tree plantation Drive 'wherein a number of saplings of trees were planted and each of them was adopted by a student to be properly cared for. The 'Heritage Eco Club', established by this department, vowed to appoint and train 'civic monitors' and carry out 'Environment Audit' in the school. Prof. Uma Sharma , President Patanjali Yogpeeth , was also present. In her speech, she enlightened the children about the importance of conserving and preserving the environment. The prize winners of the competition were : Sehar Gupta ( First) , Anoop Singh ( Second ) and Kiran jot & Sugandh ( third ). Special prizes were given to Manubhav Verma and Ananya Ashin. R C Sharma gave away the prizes and also thanked everyone for their contributory participation.
