| 12th class student killed, 11 hurt in mishap | | | KATRA: A 12th class was student and 11 others were wounded when the minibus in which they were travelling overturned near Captain Colony at Nowshera in Rajouri today.
The incident occured at about 3.30 pm when the ill-fated minibus (JK02B/2395) was on its way from Nowshera to Siot.
Police sources said the minibus overturned in the middle of the road near Captain Colony when its driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn, resulting in the instant death of a 12th class student and injuries to 11 other commuters.
The dead was identified as Ibraham Khan (18) alias Rinku, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Nowshera and the injured as Popil Devi, Vaishno Devi, Sita Devi, Sultan Mohammad, Dharamvir, Abdul Hussain, Suresh Kumar, Anita Devi, Baldev Singh, Narender Singh and Veerta Devi.
All the injured were admitted to the sub-district hospital, Nowshera. Police had registered a case against the minibus driver, who fled the spot soon after the incident.
