| Ultra's body to be exhumed in Poonch | | | JAMMU: The body of a top militant, who was killed by security forces in a gun battle in Poonch some time back, would be exhumed and handed over to his parents.
The slain militant -- Liaqat Ali -- hailed from Doda. The decision to exhume the body was taken after his parents expressed the desire to bury him in their ancestral graveyard in Doda, police sources said.
An order to exhume the militant's body had been issued by the Poonch district magistrate, the sources added. Sources said Liaqat's family members came to know about his death in the Poonch encounter from the news items and his photographs published in local newspapers.
The Poonch SSP Manmohan Singh said the body would be exhumed and handed over to his father Ghulam Mohammad, who had come to Poonch from Doda.
