Ruksana languishes under parents' domination, not allowed to meet hubby | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, June 8: Confined to an "isolated" room in their house, the Indian braveheart Ruksana Kousar, who shot into fame after killing a Lashkar commander in September last year at Kalsian here, is not allowed to meet her hubby. Her fault: She dared to go against the wish of her parents and married her personal security officer (PSO) Kabir Hussain of Khatian, Kalakote. Hussain has, however, threatened to move court if his in-laws did not send Ruksana to live with him. She married Kabir in a court here on May 26 last after which nikah was performed in a local mosque as per the Muslim rites. "Yes, it is true my family is not allowing me to meet my husband," she told this correspondent over telephone. "My parents were against this marriage," she said and added, "I went against their wish and married Kabir as I had fallen in love with him." Sources close to Ruksana's family said she had been tortured by her parents and brother for marrying Kabir. Her movements were confined to a room to ensure that she did not meet her husband, they added. Rukshana Kauser and Ajaz Ahmed, the sister-brother duo, were conferred Kirti Chakra for killing a Lashkar commander in their house at Kalsian in September last year. Kabir Hussain, now promoted as Havaldar, alleged that his wife Ruksana was being tortured by her parents and brother Ajaz. "Ajaz has threatened me and my wife Ruksana of dire consequences if we do not break our marriage," he alleged. Kabir alleged that his wife had been thrashed and tortured by her parents and brother. "I will wait for two more days and if they do not send her, I will move court against Ayaz and parents-in-law," he asserted. Enjoying a VVIP treatment and security, life had taken a U-turn for Ruksana for marrying against the wishes of her parents.
