EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 8: With the arrest of two social welfare department (SWD) employees, including a woman supervisor, from a city hotel here today, police claimed to have busted a flesh trade racket.
The raid was conducted on hotel Krishna Plaza by city police station SHO, Inspector Narinder Singh, on a tip-off, police sources said. In the raid, police caught hold of a SWD woman supervisor and a clerk from the hotel room, the sources added.
The woman was posted at Mandi in Poonch. The arrested clerk -- Riyaz Ahmad -- hails from Surankote. They were frequent visitors to the hotel.
Both were later whisked away to the city police station. Sources said during their interrogation, they told police that some big-wigs were also part of the alleged flesh trade racket in the department.
