Sources in KVIB (khadi and village industries board) said the minister had asked KVIB secretary Ravinder Singh to initiate a probe into the matter and submit him the report. Singh had forwarded a letter to KVIB's Rajouri district officer Sadiq Chib to dig into the allegations of corruption in his office, the sources added. He had also directed Chib to prepare a detailed report in this regard and submit it to him. When contacted, Chib confirmed that the secretary had ordered an inquiry after the report appeared in the today's issue of Early Times. Meanwhile, in a district officers' review meeting held at the Dak Bungalow here today, deputy commissioner Ghulam Ahmad Khawaja also directed Chib to report him the facts soon, sources said. Chib said all the pending loan cases had already been cancelled. He said that he was investigating all the cases and would soon find out the truth. Chib was recently given additional charge of KVIB, Rajouri, to streamline the department. In the today's report, the ET had exposed a nexus between KVIB and bank officials, with agents charging hefty commissions from the unemployed Rajouri youth for getting their loans sanctioned.
