Two women found killed: One by father, another by boyfriend | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Jun 8: In a bizarre incident of homicide, resident of a village in Anantnag district has killed his daughter while as another person has mercilessly killed his young beloved in Sopore area of Baramulla district. Police have solved both cases of blind murder and arrested the culprits. Official sources told Early Times that 30-year-old schoolteacher, Ruby Jan D/o Abdul Rehman Hajjam R/o Sehpora, Dooru (Anantnag) was admitted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar with a deep stab wound in her abdomen on June 4th. Her attendants told doctors that the unmarried women had fallen from a height and sustained injuries. On the same day she succumbed to injuries. Family members carried back the dead body and performed the funeral rites in suspicious circumstances. Police Station Dooru took cognizance of the matter and launched an inquest under Section 174 CrPC. During the course of investigation, Police exhumed the dead body under the orders and supervision of an executive magistrate and got the post mortem done by a team of doctors. Sustained questioning of the family members revealed that Ruby Jan had been stabbed to death by none other than her father Abdul Rehman who is a barber by profession. Hajjam admitted that he had killed his daughter over a domestic feud.Hajjam was arrested and a case FIR No. 65/2010 under section 302 RPC has been registered in police station Dooru. "We have arrested the culprit and seized the weapon of assault but we are still investigating the motive behind the murder", SHO Dooru, Mohammad Yousuf Wachu, said. He said it was a rare case of culpable homicide. Sources said that Police Station Sopore, in Baramulla district, registered case FIR No: 249/2010 under section 302 RPC after learning during a brief inquest that 22-year-old school peon, Gulshan D/o Mohammad Akbar Wani R/o Gund-e-Brath Sopore, had been done to death by an unidentified person at the shrine premises of Baba Ismail Kirmani at Seelu in Sopore on June 7th. Police recovered the dead body and launched an investigation. During the course of investigation, Police learned that Gulshan was love affair with a married person and father of two children, namely Meraj-ud-din War of Warpora, Sopore, for the last few years. As War emerged as the prime suspect, Police laid a trap and got him arrested. During sustained questioning, War revealed that he was "in love" with Gulshan and had taken oath of marrying her some time back. He revealed that on Monday, Gulshan, who was posted as peon at High Scool Seelu, called him to the local shrine where an altercation took place between the duo. War further revealed that he hit Gulshan's head with a club. She fell unconscious under the impact of the blow but still he strangled her to death and made good his escape. Gulshan had been appointed against a class 4th vacancy in the School Education Department after her brother had been gunned down by suspected militants few years back. Police have seized the weapon of assault and a mobile phone of the accused, bearing No: 9596214977, checked its call detail record which has corroborated with the statement of the accused. Sources said that Police solved the blind murder case in less than 24 hours and were in the process of submitting challan in a court of law.
