Centre trying to implement Dixon Plan in J&K, divide Jammu: FADP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, 9: Accusing the Central government of making strenuous efforts to implement Dixon Plan in Jammu and Kashmir, leaders from Jammu under the platform 'Forum Against Dixon Plan (FADP)' today alleged that a sinister process seems to have been set in motion to divide Jammu province to create territory of Greater Kashmir. The statement has come a day after the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two-day-long visit to Kashmir Valley. The forum leaders include Congress leader Hari Om, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bali Bhagat, Jammu State Morcha (JSM) leader, Abdul Rouf Ganai and Panun Kashmir leader, Ajay Chrungoo alleged that a sinister process seems to have been set in motion to divide Jammu along the Chenab river on communal lines to facilitate the emergence of Greater Kashmir, comprising of the valley and Muslim majority areas of Jammu and Ladakh. "It seems that Union government is implementing a solution keeping in view the interests of Kashmir while other regions and communities are being ignored," said BJP leader Bali Bhagat. Bhagat said, "The adoption of the Chenab Valley Autonomous Hill Council Resolution in Legislative Council without any opposition from any political party and many other administrative measures taken by the government in recent times have also most clearly established that concerted moves are afoot to implement the Dixon plan." "It is a surprise that the original Dixon plan is being disguised in the wraps of Musharraf formula, Kathwari plan, Greater Autonomy or Self-Rule. The National Conference and the PDP have been making regular forays into various areas of Jammu to polarise communal opinion in favour of Greater Kashmir," said Congress leader Hari Om. The FADP has alleged that the entire process has a bearing on the very survival of minorities across the length and breadth of the state. "Authority of the India in the state and its commitment to protect secular imperatives stand undermined as never before since independence of the country the situation is even worse than the era when the British rulers embarked upon carving out Pakistan in the Muslim majority areas of the undivided India", said JSM leader Abdul Rouf Ganai. "The holocaust that followed the country's partition is bound to replicate given the fact that the religious cleansing in Kashmir valley has not shaken the reckless Indian political class. In this situation all right thinking people particularly in Jammu province have a greater responsibility to stop another partition and prevent the impending holocaust", said Ajay Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir.
