| VC, OBC convenes public meet at Khour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 9: Vice Chairman, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Kuldeep Raj Verma convened a public gathering at Khour here today. On the occasion, people of Khour block and adjoining areas apprised about their problems and demands which mainly included adequate supply of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, adequate transportation, road connectivity, healthcare facilities, proper supply of ration, implementation of development works under NREGA, sanction of BPL ration cards, installation of electric poles, regularization of old age and widow pension, compensation of land which comes under fencing by Army, upgradation of educational institutions, construction of lanes and drains and tube-wells, launching of self employment schemes, rehabilitation of displaced persons, sufficient staff at schools, provision of seeds and fertilizers at subsidized rates and employment under NREGA scheme.
Assuring to discuss the demands with the concerned officers, Verma said that several issues have already been brought into notice of higher authorities and other genuine demands would also be fulfilled soon. He asked the people to personally monitor the development works executing in their respective jurisdictions.
On the occasion, a youth of Pukharni Village was honored by Vice Chairman for getting 26th rank in IAS.
Later, Verma inaugurated complaint cell where the people can register their grievances so that these can be solved on priority.
