| 2 BSF men hurt in attack by Gujjars on IB | | | JAMMU, June 09:
Two BSF men were injured when Gujjars attacked them near the International Border (IB) at Kanachak near here last evening. Police sources said a group of Gujjars attacked BSF jawans with lathies and stones after they objected the construction of makeshift huts by them near the border outpost Alpha Machial in Kanachak sub-sector.
The injured jawans -- Danish Kumar Pandey of Jharkhand and Vijay Kumar Tiwari of Bihar -- were admitted to the GMC Hospital here.
Both were at present posted with 'G' Company of 122 BSF Bn. Police had registered a case under sections 353 and 332 of RPC against the accused.
Raids were being conducted to nab the accused, the sources added. Few years ago, the tribal Gujjars had thrashed army personnel in the Kanachak sector.
In a similar incident, Gujjars had attacked police, injuring several cops, while the latter had tried to evict them from a place ahead of Bhagwati Nagar.
