Step up in pace of dev works in Keso Manhansan: Slathia

JAMMU, June 11: Minister for Industries and Comm-erce, Surjit Singh Slathia has said that coalition Govern-ment headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to develop all the peripheral areas at par with urban centers by providing all infrastructural facilities there. The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering at Keso Manshan in Ramgarh Zone of Samba district. Slathia said that Government was making all out efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people of three regions of the State including road connectivity, healthcare, power, drinking water and drainage system. He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of the ongoing constructions works in their respective areas. He said that they should coordinate with the concerned agencies for accelerating the developmental works in their areas. The Minister directed the officers to remain present in their offices and solve the hardships of the people without any delay. He asked the executing agencies to use the available funds judiciously by creating durable assets in the State. He said that UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manm-ohan Singh has provided liberal funding for developing the State on modern lines. Responding to the local demands, the Minister asked the concerned departments to prepare the estimates for construction of approached road to cremation ground besides repair and renovation of internal lanes and drains and submit the same for funding so that the works could be started. He issued instructions to upgrade existing transformer and install 60 poles in the left areas of the village. He asked the people to pay power tariff regularly and use electricity judiciously. Earlier, the Min-ister also inaugurated boundary wall of Peer Baba in Keso Manashan, coming up at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh by Rural Development Department.
