Census work gains momentum in Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SAMBA, June 11: The conduct of Census 2010 field survey work in Samba district has been accelerated with regular field inspections through master trainers (Principal of Higher Secondary School) who have been assigned the responsibility of checking the field work alongwith circle supervisors. To review the progress achieved in ongoing field work relating to Census of India, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Census Officer (Additional Deputy Comm-issioner) Samba, Mr R C Sharma, where master trainers, supervisors of all the supervisory circles and staff from the Directorate of Census Operation J&K headed by V K Moza besides Census Charge Officer (Tehsildar, Samba) and all the urban charge officer were present. The master trainers apprised that at present they are doing field verification viz checking up the entries made by the enumerators in Houselisting Schedule and National Population Register Schedules, the lay out maps and house numbering in each houselisting block. The progress of all the charges was also reviewed which is as under rural charge including census towns 55 percent and urban charges 52 percent. |
