CJM Kathua denies bail to attempted murder accused | | | Early Times report Kathua, June 11 : The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kathua M Deepak Sethi denied bail to four accused facing charges of attempted murder. The accused Sethi Singh alias Sethu, Rakesh Singh alias Jashu, Narinder Singh Sambyal and Deepak Salathia who were arrested by the Hiranagar police in a case of attempt to murder sought bail in the court of CJM, Kathua. According to the police case on March 25, 2010 at about 8:15 AM while the complainant was going to Bazaar from his house Hira-Nagar, he was intercepted by the accused and attacked him with sharp edged weapons. He was seriously injured. The complainant was taken to hospital in injured condition and on the statement of the complainant a case u/s 307/341/323/34 RPC r/w section 4/25 Arm Act was registered with P/S Hira Nagar and accused were arrested. While rejecting the bail application CJM Kathua observed that the occurrence took place in the broad-day light in the morning. The applicant/accused have assaulted the complainant, inflicted injuries on his person. The court believes these acts must have created terror in the public at large, more particularly the inhabitants of area where the crime has been allegedly committed. The applicants do not deserve bail at this stage as investigation is in progress. (JNF)
