Farmers worst victim of coalition's wrong policies: Bajwa | | | Early Times Report BISHNAH, June 11: Former Rajya Sabha member and Vice President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Trilok Singh Bajwa lambasted the National Conference (NC) led coalition regime for its failure to solve day today problems of the common masses. He regretted that instead of minimizing problems of the people this regime has increased woes of the commoners due to its wrong policies. Addressing a function organized by party leader Chater Saini at Bishnah, Bajwa pointed out that all sections of the society have been agitating against this government due to the policies being adopted by this regime. He especially mentioned that farmers were the worst victims of the anti-people policies of the government. He said that neither seed nor fertilizer was available to the farmers at the time of sowing. He further added that irrigation facilities have become non functional as de-silting of the canals were not done properly. He pointed out that government has repeated promises to solve problems of the farmers but the assurances remained only on papers. He said that quality seeds were not available to the farmers. Contesting claims of the government to provide free ration to the draught affected farmers of the State, he said that such promises remained only on papers as majority of the farmers of Kandi areas were virtually facing starvation. He said that enough ration was not supplied in the rural areas and farmers, who have suffered losses of three successive crops have been facing hardship due to the wrong policies of the government. Calling upon the party workers to take up issues of the masses, he asserted that PDP being the main opposition party would not remain a mute spectator to the misdeeds of the coalition. He said that PDP would come on streets to force the government to take some effective steps to solve problems of the common masses. Former Rajya Sabha member while criticizing the coalition regime, said that expect promises ruling National Conference has done nothing for the uplift of the people. He said that National Conference had promised, during the assembly elections, to recruit 8th pass in the police but after getting power this party has brazenly back tracked from its promises. He further mentioned that employment policy announced by the government was nothing but a cruel joke with the people.
