Symposiumon dangers of smoking

Udhampur June 11: Uzma Khatoon, a student of 9th standard was adjudged best speaker in the symposium on dangerous effects of smoking held on the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Sudhmahadev in Udhampur district on Friday.
Second and third positions were clinched by Miss. Tanika Devi of class 8th and Rohit Kumar of class 12th respectively

The department of Drugs & Food Control in collaboration with Department of Education, Health and Information has started a week long District level Awareness Campaign under the aegis of District Monitoring Committee, Udhampur on the Indian Tobacco Control Act-2003 to appraise the masses especially the youngsters of bad effects of tobacco smoking.
As many as 27 students of the host institution participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic.
Speaking on the occasion Assistant Controller Drugs, Munish Gupta gave a detailed account of the campaign and highlighted various provisions of the Act.
Prizes were also given to the winners in the symposium.
