| Extension lecture series conclude at GDC | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur June 11: The Remedial and Extension lecture series organized by PG Department of English of
Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur concluded here today.
Local MLA Udhampur, Shri Balwant Singh was the chief guest on the valedictory function.
In his address, the chief guest congratulated the college management for initiating programs that focus on academic interaction of the students with the faculty of other institution thus raising the confidence level of the students. He termed the quality of program as outstanding and called for making this event a regular biannual feature. He also expressed satisfaction over the campus development of the college and assured every possible support in such endeavours.
Earlier the program began with the lighting of traditional lamp. Principal, Government Degree College (Boys), Dr. Nutun Kumar Resutra in his formal welcome address said that college management was putting its best effort to create a healthy academic ambience conducive for the overall growth of the students. He said that enhancing student amenities on campus and making teaching- learning more accountable shall always be his preferences.
A presentation of the report on lecture series was made by Prof. Sudhir Singh who highlighted some salient features of the program. This series covered lectures on Post Colonial Literature, Feminism and Deconstruction in addition to a workshop on stylistic appreciating of poetry.
About 35 PG students from Mata Vaishno Devi University, the host college and its alumni attended the lectures delivered by scholars of repute in their respective areas.
