JAMMU, June 11: A newly recruited militant was rescued by a joint column of police and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from Chukron forests of Patnazi in Kishtwar last evening.
He was identified as Mohammad Imran (22), son of Mohammad Ramzan of Chukron.
Police sources said he went missing from his residence about a month back under mysterious circumstances. The wireless intercepts later suggested that he had joined militant ranks, the sources added.
He was last evening captured from the Chukron forests by police and RR jawans while they were making searches in the forests.
Sources said after questioning, he was handed over to the concerned police station for his sustained interrogation.
