| WWAO condoles demise of Shanta Bharti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 14: World Women Awakening Organization (WWAO), J&K Chapter, Jammu today expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of late Shanta Bharti, a freedom fighter, social and political activist, first women journalist who sacrificed her life for the noble cause of needy and downtrodden sanctions of society. In an emergent meeting held under the presidentship of Sarla Kohli, the members also paid heartrending tributes to the departed soul and prayed Almighty to give courage to the family members to bear the loss. Two minutes silence was also observed to pay tributes to the departed soul. Paying rich tributes to the departed leader, Sneh Bali, convener J&K Chapter and national general secretary recalled the valuable services of Shanta Bharti, elder sister of Raj Bharti which she had rendered during her life time as a great social and political activist. She said that due to the demise of Bharti needy people and especially womenfolk of the state have suffered a great loss and a void has been created with her death which cannot be fulfilled. Other speakers who paid rich tributes and remembered her valuable contribution to the society included Indira Rathore, general secretary, Sabita Bakshi, secretary, Kanchan Sharma, publicity secretary, Nirmal Bakshi, Kiran, Kamini Khajuria and Poonam Sharma.
