Arms haul in Poonch, Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU/RAJOURI, June 14: AK rifles and a large quantity of explosive items were recovered by security forces from two militant hideouts in Poonch and Kishtwar forests today. Official sources said two militants were sighted moving in Dunnugam forests of Loran near mandi in Poonch at about 11.30 am. Soon thereafter, police and troops of 19 Raj Rifles launched a massive search operation in the woods, the sources added. Though troops could not find any clue to the whereabouts of the militants, they came across a militant hideout. Search of the hideout led troops to the recovery of six AK rifles with five magazines, 2 Chinese pistols with two magazines, 2 RPG boosters, one Satellite phone and one bag. From another militant hideout in Lidrari forests of Atholi in Paddar, Kishtwar, security forces recovered one rifle with 140 rounds, two UBGL grenades, one kenwood radio set and some other explosive items.Both the hideouts were later destroyed by the troops.
