DC holds public darbar, listens to local problems

UDHAMPUR, June 14: To take stock of problems and demands of the people, the District Development Commissioner, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan held an open public darbar at Panchyat Sail- Jattan, Village Salmeri in Udhampur district, here today.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers, PWD, PMGSY, Chief Animal Husbandry, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, and other District officers , besides and Tehsildar, Udhampur, BDO Udhampur, BMO Tikri, officers of various departments prominent persons of the locality and people in large number attended the Darbar.
The problems and demands put forth by the locals included, provision for Railway crossing between upper and lower village of Patla, early completion of road from Salmeri to Kandal, up-gradation of Water supply Scheme for the Panchayat Sail Jattan, Construction of additional rooms and building at Government Higher Secondary School, Salmeri, adequate staff at GHSS, Salmeri, Transfer of land and construction of building of Health Centre and Veterinary dispensary, repair of Rani Bowali, installation of hand pump, black topping of Salmeri to Dibriya via Baili road, construction of road under PMGSY scheme from Dubriya morh to Padanoo via village Palta, construction of tractor road from Palta to Salmeri, construction of boundary wall Primary School Sail Jattan, adequate plantation in the Salmeri area, early preparation and distribution of BPL ration cards, benefits under old age pension scheme.
DDC gave a patient hearing and said that the main objective of holding such public darbar was to get the feed back about on-going developmental activities by various departments viz. their functioning. Such darbars enable district administration to know about the problems being faced by the public and solve the same at their door steps.
Regarding Railway crossing between upper and lower village of Patla, he assured the locals that the matter has already been taken up with Railway authorities.
Similar, he issued instructions to other concerned departments to solve the problems related to the provision for the basic amenities of the public.
