| MAM College Organizes extension lecture on pure mathematics | | | Early times Report
Jammu, June 14: The mathematics club of govt. M.A.M College organized an extension lecture in continuation of series of lectures for PG students. Dean Sciences, University of Jammu Prof. Anand Prakash Singh who was the resource person gave a lecture on the topic 'Pure Mathematics' and highlighted the importance of 'Pure Mathematics' in day-to-day life.
He threw light on many mathematical problems while interacting with students and spoke on building of Graph theory, topology and Konigsbridge problem. On the occasion numbers of queries were raised by the students which were answered by Prof. Singh in a simple way. Principal of the college Prof. Ajeet Angral in his welcome address expressed gratitude over the visit of the eminent mathematician. He stressed over the need of applied education for the young creative minds and exhorted the staff and students to continue with such type of programme in future.
Prof. Angral also appreciated the two Power Point presentations made by the students Rinku and Anamika earlier on the topic 'Coordinate Geometry' and Vedic Mathematics' respectively. Dr. Raj Sheer Dhar, incharge of PG Department presented the vote of thanks while Ms. Gargi Jasrotia a student of 4th Semester conducted the proceedings.
