| Cop held for attempted rape | | |

RAJOURI, June, 14: A police constable was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a widow at Gursai in Mendhar, Poonch, today. He was identified as Nissar Ahmad.
Police sources said Nissar allegedly barged into the widow's house when she was all alone and tried to rape her. The woman cried for help and hearing her screams, her neighbours rushed to her rescue, the sources added.
Nissar was captured by the people and handed over to Gursai police station.
When contacted, Gursai police station SHO, Inspector Amin Malik said Nissar had been arrested and booked under section 376/511 of RPC.
