Bank manager remanded to 7 days' police custody | | | early times report JAMMU, June 15: The Rural Bank's Pargwal branch manager Daleep Kumar Bhat, who was yesterday caught red-handed by state vigilance organisation (SVO) while accepting bribe, was today remanded to seven days' police custody by additional sessions judge, anti-corruption, D C Sagotra.The SVO had laid the trap and arrested the manager on the complaint of Parmanand.As per the complaint, a loan of Rs one lakh was sanctioned by the bank in favour of Parmanand for setting up a khadi industry.SVO sources said after the first installment of Rs 35,000 was released, the bank manager allegedly demanded Rs 7,000 from the complainant as gratification for releasing the balance amount of Rs 65,000.Parmanand then lodged a complaint with SVO. Acting on the complaint, the SVO laid a trap and arrested the manager red handed while accepting bribe.He was today produced before the court which remanded him to seven days' police custody.SVO has registered a case against him under section 5(2) of prevention of corruption Act 2006 read with section 161.
