Shaleen murder case | Nai Basti shopkeepers to take candle light rally | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 16: The inhabitants of Nai Basti have decided to keep the shutters of their shops down tomorrow evening in memory of 10 years old boy, Shaleen Gupta who was kidnapped and brutally murdered for ransom by two local criminals, on the occasion of his birthday on June 17. They have also decided to take out a candle light rally against the involvement of a politician in the evening at about 5 pm. Meanwhile, a protest rally was taken out by a local woman Congress leader, Santosh against the alleged involvement of National Conference leader for supporting criminals who had committed the crime. Large number of women of Satwari, Nai Basti took out rally from Satwari Chowk and it concluded at the residence of the victim at Nai Basti at 6.30 pm. The protesters were shouting slogans against the NC leader alleging that the police set free the main accused Davinder Singh from their custody following a phone call made by the leader. The murder took place, as the accused was set free, they alleged.
