| ‘Omar sabotaged Mufti’s Mughal Road Show’ | | PDP Karwaan likely to run on this historic road by month end | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 16
Though Peoples Democratic Party Chief Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is scheduled to tread historic Mughal Road by the end of this month, PDP today blamed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of sabotaging earlier visit of Mufti by organizing road show in “frustration” when Pir Gali was covered with snow.
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed along with his legislators and senior party leaders is expected to visit Rajouri Poonch via this road by the end of June this year. Local PDP leaders have already been conveyed about this march.
Sources told Early Times that PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has planned to run “PDP Karwan” on Mughal Road in the last week of June and he has already held a meeting with local leaders of Rajouri Poonch in this regard.
Sources said that Mufti was earlier planning to drive his vehicle on this road but the same was allegedly sabotaged by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. “When Omar Abdullah came to know about Mufti’s plan of visiting Rajouri Poonch via Mughal Road, he immediately organised road show at the time when Pir Gali was covered with heavy snow”, PDP sources said adding “Omar was already aware about the Mufti’s plan of visiting Rajouri and road show was held only to sabotage that visit and claim credit of Mughal road”.
“We had planned to hold road show on Mughal Road under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but the same was sabotaged by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who after knowing the Mufti plan rushed in his vehicle towards Baflias from Srinagar”, PDP leader advocate Tazeem Dar said adding “That show was held in desperation by the Chief Minister to sabotage Mufti’s visit”.
Dar said that Mufti in his recent meeting with him at Srinagar had expressed his desire to tread Mughal Road by vehicle. “We have again been summoned by the party at Srinagar on June 12 and the event is expected to be discussed”, Tazeem Dar said adding that the opening of this road was dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and he is very enthusiastic to visit Rajouri Poonch via this road. “We have planned to organize a big reception of Mufti when he will visit here”, Dar said adding that Mufti is also planning to address public rallies at Surankote and Mendher.
Peoples Democratic Party has kept close eye on the voters of Rajouri Poonch and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is seemed to be serious in garnering the support of the people of this region in every proposal of the party. “Mufti Sahab is the only Kashmiri leader who is showing interest in Rajouri and Poonch and he has already taken historic steps for socio-economic development of the region by starting Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Mughal Road construction”, Tazeem said adding that the visit of Mufti through Mughal Road will also speed up the construction work.
