Mehbooba's outburst is a 'manifestation of frustration': Sadhotra | She should look inward in the party and arrest the dissention that is brewing up in PDP | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 17: Couple of days after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti accused the Omar led coalition government of partonising the criminals and institutionalizing the crime in Jammu, the ruling National Conference (NC) today shot back at the Opposition party, saying "Mehbooba's outburst is a manifestation of frustration." "The allegations leveled by PDP president are baseless, concocted, false and with a design to misinform the people of the Jammu region. The recent statement of Mehbooba Mufti smacks of sheer frustration as PDP is out of power," Ajay Sadhotra, NC MLA told reporters here. Flanked by NC Provincial president, Jammu province, Rattan Lal Gupta and other senior leaders of the party, Sadhotra took serious exception to the statement of Mehbooba wherein she had made an allegation that the crime rate has increased in Jammu region since Coalition Government headed by National Conference took over. "The appreciation that the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah received from a person not less than the Prime Minister of India speaks volumes about the performance of the Coalition Government, in the State in the last sixteen months. The detractors of the Chief Minister and the National Conference are frustrated and demoralized and their outburst is a manifestation of that frustration," he retorted. Praising the performance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as head of the Government so far, Sadhotra added that crime state had declined by about three times as compared to previous years since he took over. Further, he claimed that 30 per cent militancy has been reduced as it was in 2008 in the State, besides there was decline in civilian killings, security personnel killings and HR violations. Also, he condemned the gruesome murder of school boy Shaleen Gupta and demanded speedy investigation and fast track trial of this case to ensure stringent punishment to the culprits. "Mehbooba Mufti is finding it difficult to keep her flock together and there is dissention and discontent brewing up in the party rank and file and to cover up that she is making a deliberate effort to divert attention through melodramatic statements which are figment of her own imagination. She has realized that she has lost the battle and it is now her effort to put up a front to cover up the chinks in her armour," the NC leader attacked. He cautioned Mehbooba to abstain from playing "divisive politics". Sadhotra advised Mehbooba to look inward in the Party and arrest the dissention that is brewing up in her party and the challenge to her leadership from senior leaders of the party.
