RSS 'conspired' Bhopal gas tragedy: Mughal Trust
6/17/2010 11:40:32 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 17: Mughal Trust, an organisation providing medical care to poor people across the country, today gave a new twist to ongoing controversy over Bhopal gas tragedy when it alleged that it was conspiracy hatched by the Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) to kill members of minority community.
Talking to media persons here, Mohammad Shahid Khan, who claims to be member of Mughal Trust alleged that he was told by the son of then Governor of the Madhya Pradesh Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma that there would be big incident in the city in next few days.
"I was residing in Bhopal from 1980 to 1986 because of my business and my address was Aarera Colony, No 11, Nagpur Road, Bhopal. Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma was the then Governor. His son Mahadev Sharma aged about 18-20 years often used to visit me. One day suddenly he told me that there was going to have very dangerous accident in which thousands of Muslims were going to be murdered."
Shahid Khan alleged that, Mahadev pointed towards the RSS worker who had come along with him and said that they were making such a programme to kill members of minority community. "I smiled and thought it was a joke. However he said we could not disclose who had planned all this but we were going to do it," Khan alleged.
"But after six days the Union Carbide incident happened in which about 29000 Muslims and 3000 non-Muslims died and most of them have not got any relief till date.
It clearly shows that it was a planned conspiracy to kill the members of minority community," he charged.
The Trust headed by a noted scholar Dr A.M Zutshi Gulzar Dehlvi has demanded that central government should constitute a judicial commission with the time bound phase to inquire the fact that how many officials working at Union Carbide factory had links with the RSS at that time.
He further alleged that as the Common wealth games are nearing, some political parties which include Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) want to raise the issue to malign the name of the country.
All these events should be investigated and people responsible for the same should be prosecuted for their role in killing the innocents. "We are also meeting the activists in New Delhi and would also organise press conference in the capital and facts would be placed before the people", Khan said.
