JAMMU June 17: Expressing concern over the failure of Jammu University authorities to conduct the entrance test for various Post Graduate courses from current year, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) today said that the decision has posed a big question mark on the creditability of the Vice Chancellor, Varun Sahni. Talking to media persons , State Vice president Suresh Mangotra and ABVP University President Preety Choudhary stated that Jammu University has befooled the thousands of students preparing for the entrance exam and caused mental harassment as students had started preparing for entrance exam from last year after the announcement by the VC himself about the same they added.
ABVP demanded that VC should made it public what prompted him to call back the decision of introduction of entrance to PO course, calling back the already procedure of entrance in BBA and BCA and lowering the percentage of eligibility for B. Ed. course from 45% to 33%. It is a big conspiracy to appease the Pvt. College Owners most of whom are politicians as out of state students number is falling. ABVP demands prove in the entire episode as some officials of University are working for making money from such channels.
ABVP questioned the placement done by departments as Business school and MCA because students after completing MBA and MCA could only get jobs of 4000 salary and no more due to poor reputation of such schools and poor work culture of such departments. In nut shell the academics of university have deteriorated to zero level and in absence of scholarship to scholars the research is also deteriorating.
ABVP further also demanded the scholarship to scholars for improving the status of research in JU and teachers should also come forward to save the dying cultural heritage of University.
ABVP also questioned the credibility of spending of student money in publishing big jumbo ads in newspapers for giving the causes of strike by students in BGSB by the University Authorities as anti student move and instead of such things the authorities should strive to pacify the students by conceding the genuine demands.
