HC comes to rescue of para medical students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU June 17 : In a petition filed by a private college of Para Medical Sciences, Vacation Judge of J&K High Court (Jammu Wing) Justice JP Singh today directed the authorities to entertain the examination forms of the students. The court issued notice to State of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education and President J&K State Medical Faculty, Directorate of Health Services Jammu and after the parties. The president Jammu Kashmir state Medical Faculty was directed to entertain the examination forms of the petitioner's for permitting them to take examination for Female Multipurpose Health Worker and Male Multipurpose Health worker Courses. Court further said that this shall, however, is subject to the condition that the candidates were eligible under rules to take the examinations. The petitioner submitted that the institute was established and managed by a Trust and after completion of all the necessary formalities vide order dated August 23, 2007 Government granted NOC in favour of petitioner's institute. After getting the NOC from the government, the institute is imparting training courses in different paramedical streams including FMPHW, MMPHW Pharmacist that fresh admission were made by this institute in the month of August, 2009 and immediately informed the President J&K State Medical Faculty for making selection and in fact selection has been made and all the students admitted by the petitioner's institute are duly approved. Thereafter registration fee was also submitted by this institute but the respondent refuse to accept the examination forms for undisclosed reasons, however, the respondents are contemplating to conduct the examination from June 28, 2010 and seeking direction respondents to allow the students of the petitioner's institution. ---JNF
