NMS demand liberal funds | | | Early Times Report Jammu , June 17: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMS) Subash Shastri has urged planning commission of India to approve plan size for J&K State for current financial year as proposed by the State Government. In a Inemorandum sent to Deputy Chairman of planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Shastri said that plan size proposed by Jammu & Kashmir Govt. Is quite realistic keeping in view the needs and utilization capacity of state? Hoping that central Government would provide liberal funding to J&K, as in did in past, so that the Govt. is able to carry forward speedily its agenda of socio economic development to ensure progress and prosperity in state. On account of 6th pay commission recommendations, Shastri also requested Ahluwalia for providing additional, allocation of Rs. 5000 Crore to J&K Government to enable it to release the pay revision arrears to its employees and pensioners. He exuded confidence that the meeting between the Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah and the Planning Commission, Deputy Chairman tomorrow would prove fruitful a" the State will get the required funds.
