| Korfball: Jammu Red to face Jammu Blue in final | | |

SRINAGAR, June 17: Jammu Red shall take on Jammu Blue in the final of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Memorial 9th State Korfball Championship being organised by J&K Korfball Association at Tyndale Biscoe School, here.
In the semi-finals, played today, Jammu Red defeated Srinagar Blue 21-04 in a one-sided contest while Jammu Blue trounced Udhampur 08-02. In the quarterfinals, Jammu Red beat Shopian 16-05; Jammu Blue trounced Ganderbal 7-2; Srinagar Blue defeated Baramulla 8-3 and Udhampur registered win over district Anantnag 6-2.
The final is scheduled to be played tomorrow at 10.30 am. The hardliner for third place shall take place at 9 am.
Earlier, the three-day championship was declared open by Member Legislative Council, T S Wazir, who was chief guest. In all, 16 teams took part in this championship being played on knock-out basis.
